Never Buy A Bike At Target
$84.00 Mountain Bike - Complaint
MINNEAPOLIS DOWNTOWN, MINNESOTA -- After deciding to buy a bike this May as my birthday gift I went to Target to purchase it. I bought it assembled and since it is not possible to test ride the bike inside of the store I relied on the so called assured guarantee from products sold at Target. Ha what a fool I was!
I brought it home and kept it in my living room so proudly to be used past Sunday with friends in a ride around the lakes. A friend of mine arrived and saw the tires were bent, not aligned and the brake pads were holding the back tire. I never rode the bike and put it in a car to go to the same store I bought it yesterday (May 22).
When I arrived, I was informed that the bike couldn't be exchanged by another since it was not NEW, (yeah right, I never rode and anyone who would look at it would see), I asked for a return then, and the answer was the same (sorry, the product is not new!).I am enraged, disappointed and felt deceived due to such an illegal policy. Where does the right of the consumer stay in this kind of attitude? It is ridiculous.
They offered me to leave the bike there to be repaired by Target. The only option I had, so I left it there very much against my will because I am sure it is not the right procedure to do. From now on my Target card will be kept aside, I am boycotting it and telling everyone I can reach about the fact. And I hope this post can be one more way to spread the word against TARGET. So be aware, read and share with others.
