OXNARD, CALIFORNIA -- As a platinum member I usually am upgraded to a great room. The 1st of 3 times here we had a very nice room. 2nd time very small and not on the side of the Hotel we wanted. 3rd time still not near where we requested. Had to request better pillows. Then, while at the desk a lady puts her hands to the glass doors and looks all around to see in our room. I ran across the room and jerked the curtain back. She smiled and pointed to her badge from Marriott. I then stepped outside the room and asked what she thought she was doing peeking in my room. No answer just "I'm sorry". No one has ever "peeked" in one of my rooms and it is inexcusable. This is the last time I will book here. The staff is not responsive enough. Very noisy from trains and traffic. Security doors don't work well on one building.

try upgrading to Holiday Inn rewards. I use them exclusively, and am 'always' treated superbly and with respect. I am also upgraded to higher floors. this prevents the window issue.

I use Holiday Inn (priority club) myself and I, too, have had good service from them! And I've never had some hotel employee playing peeping Tom in my window, either.

I have several "rewards" cards and have found that it depend upon the location. A Comfort inn in St Louis, Hampton in New Orleans, Courtyard in Natchez etc. Because of franchising, the quality varies from city to city.
