LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- I bought a Homelite Weed Trimmer and after few uses noticed the engine would not start. Called customer service and walla it can only be repaired by dealer. Did some study and found out it needs carburator adjustent and when tried to adjust carburator noticed they had special screws that needed special tool from Homelite. This company is a rip off. Carburator adjustment by dealer only, special weird screws that can only be tightened by homelite and dealer, parts only available through homelite, in the mean time I can't trim and care for my lawn. What a miserable company product rip off. Extremely. dissatisfied

Yes, they have at least 3 special screw heads - single D, double D (my favorite), and Pac-Man.

You can get cheap versions of a tool for about $4 on Ebay.

My guess is they don't want consumers adjusting the mixture too lean, burning the motor up, and then returning the trimmer for warranty repair. On my Stihl chainsaw, they have a "stop" that prevents the mixture screws from being turned very far.
