Orbitz - Their computer screws up- I pay for it
Orbitz flight booking - Complaint
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- So I go on to Orbitz about three weeks before my business trip to Baltimore, MD and book a flight. I clearly enter the dates 6-6 to 6-7. I book my flight, receive a confirmation email that it's booked. I then realize that Orbitz has booked me not for one day, but for a MONTH and one day.
I log back into their website and it shows the dates that I want to leave- 6-6 to 6-7, so I assume they will see the mistake take care of it.
They argue that I must have incorrectly entered the dates MYSELF, even though when I log back in, it shows the correct dates automatically by default- the site itself opens to the dates of 6-6 to 6-7.
So here I am, paying a HUGE flight change fee for THEIR mistake. I tried explaining what happened to a supervisor, but their way of dealing with this was to tell me they would "check into it and refund me if they discovered an error on their part- in 7-10 days."
I will never, EVER- UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES- use Orbitz again. I plan on telling everyone I know about this. I want people to know how they treated me and to know that you'll get better customer service going directly through the airline, even if it costs a few extra dollars for your trouble. Live and learn and buyer beware, they offer ZERO customer service at Orbitz, and could care less about you.
