Dish network - Fails to deliver but no way out
Dish Hopper - Complaint
SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA -- Worst experience with a business I have ever had. We started our service on April 16th, it's now one day shy of June and our service still doesn't work. The only thing I'm grateful for in this experience is that I didn't cancel Cox while waiting for Dish to get started. He sequence of events:
April 16th- a tech came out to set up the service. Though it wasn't working properly, the tech left.
Two days later the service still wasn't working and the same message was on the screen, "don't call us, we are working on it."
We scheduled another tech to come out and he said there was faulty equipment and ordered a new hopper. It was delivered three days later and we scheduled another tech visit.
Third tech visit: finally seemed to get things working after three hours
Stopped working again so another visit (mind you I had to take these afternoons off because Dish service windows are five hrs)
Fourth tech visit- no how, no call
Call to management where we won't back and forth. I was told that every time it works and then stops agin is considered a new problem and I have to give them a chance to fix it.
Fifth tech visit - replaced a couple parts on the dish and again, within hours it stopped working and the same message was back up.
Called back the exec I had spoken to and am still waking for a return call two wks later despite follow ups on my part.
At this point, I've asked to be released from the contract without paying the fees as they cannot seem to fulfill their end by providing service. They refuse and say I ave to allow them to continue to try and fix it- which means taking more afternoons off from work while they try to fixit and then calling each month to fight for the ill to be waved since we are not getting service.
I highly recommend you seriously consider the ins and outs of their contract before signing up.
I just want out and don't think I should have to pay penalty fees since they haven't been able to provide service.
