RUFE SNOW KELLER, TEXAS -- Congratulations on becoming an outstandingly well stocked and clean store that offers a great variety of groceries including a wonderful variation of healthy organic products that include fresh fruits and vegetables.

As a culinary chef who enjoys using healthy meats and organics in the meals I prepare have a problem with the brash rudeness I receive from mainly your male employees who seem to lack normal social-filters of politeness and manners when checking out and assisting customers. They are not trained to recognize the products Kroger sells.

Let me give you an example. While purchasing groceries June 2, 2012 @ 8:50 PM I entered a checkout lane with my husband. AJ was the cashier. He greeted my husband took and swiped our rewards card and proceeded to scan in our items. He pulled a plastic bag of bulk dates and commented to everyone around us that it looked like I was buying large cockroaches. He would not stop with the comments regarding my produce. The 3 females on staff included the customer service representative commented to him that he was being rude to the customer but left.

He than rudely demanded of me” What is this?” I replied red faced that those items were called “dates”. He then demanded answers of me for many of the items I was purchasing questioning why I was spending extra money for organics. My husband, a Physician, attempted to explain to him why we felt organic where important and your cashier cut him off. We left with our groceries with AJ yelling rude exit remarks. ”Hey, Like try to have a nice night.”

I will spend my grocery money at Whole Foods or Central Markert where staff is better trained in customer service.

Don't let one cashier keep you from shopping at a store you like. Just avoid that particular cashier when you are shopping. Also, speaking to a manager might help. They could talk to that cashier to let him know that those comments are out of line. He probably thought he was being funny, when he really was being rude. A manager talking to him might put him in check.

I don't think you should stop shopping at this store. The female staffers, who couldn't get him to stop, more than likely have already told management about his rude comments. Go to the manager and back them up, because if you don't he could try to play the "they just don't like me and ganged up on me" card.
You, the person who was offended by his comments, have more pull than anyone. Even if they haven't gone, your complaint will allow them to open up about what they witnessed.

I don't really care if your husband is the Suergeon General, I am one who believes organics is the biggest scam going. It is estimated that if we totally switched to organic farming, we could feed three billion people. Problem is, there are seven billion people on the planet. Who decides what four billion people starve to death? Organic proponents decry the very algricultural scientific advances that enable us to feed the population and have a surplus.
