MCLEAN ON ROUTE 136, ILLINOIS -- My husband and I entered the restaurant after filling up our car with gas at the same stop.I immediately slide and caught my self on the soap filled floor. The employee had put up a yellow sign which I saw as I was sliding. She looked at me and continued to fill the floor with more soapy water. No apology or attention to what a dangerous accident prone area she was creating. It was 6:00 and we were going to get something to eat. I was so scared of falling all I could do was to carefully get out as soon as possible. People continued to enter and the employee took no care to their safety. She had soaped up the entire approach area for ordering inside. A safe area should have been made for the patrons to safely oder their food.

Please address this with the staff. It was a law suit waiting to happenI

This isn't a funny situation at all, but the image of looking AT the sign AS you were falling is an odd one.

The great part here is you were not hurt. I would have brought this to the attention of someone who looked like they might be in charge of the janitors.

It is strange that they did this during a busy time, but at the same time they had a sign up and the floor was clearly wet and soapy. So I'm not sure what else they could do. It's also possibly that there had been a spill there a few minutes prior and the guy was cleaning it up.

I would rather see someone in a fast food place cleaning the floor than walk in and see trash cans overflowing, dirty tables, and a floor that looks like it hasn't seen a mop since the place was built. And as far as being sued, that yellow sign covers them. Personally I always watch where I'm walking, especially when going in and out of a store.

Excellent point, Tezrien. People are slobs, and at a busy time the whole restaurant can turn into a pigsty within only a half hour.

The restaurant may have no choice in cleaning up the slop, because new customers walking in may turn right around and leave. The cleaning operation may turn away some, but it will be fewer.
