Sears - Refrigerator not delivered after 3 tries

We bought a refrigerator over the Memorial Day weekend from Sears. The sales person was extremely affable, talked to us incessantly and guaranteed delivery within 2 days of purchase. So far, we were very happy. We like our local Sears store and this experience was just like the previous few times.
Until the delivery game began. 3 delivery attempts went like this: Sears calls the night before with a two hour window. I stay home during that time. No phone calls, no delivery. After window closes I call Sears and they sound surprised that I was expecting a delivery since my delivery was 'rescheduled'. No one thought that I might want to know that!
After the third time they did this, I went down to the store and cancelled my order. all of this was frustrating and annoying, but the part that was really shocking was how the local store stopped responding to us after the second delivery misfire. I don't know the delivery department, and do not wish to. The store that sells me the appliance, particularly the guy who was so friendly at the time of sale - is my point of contact. If he (they) treat customers so badly even before the delivery has been completed, I shudder to think what would have happened if the refrigerator did get delivered and then malfunctioned!
I am actually relieved this has occurred. Sears has given me a good feel for what their customer service is really like before I was stuck with the refrigerator. I got a full refund and am never, ever going back to Sears. Even to buy shoes.
