PORTLAND, MAINE -- I have tried to remove my father from your service for over a year!!! I just keep getting the run around. You will not disconnect, my father has passed away?!?!?! What is this going to take? I think at this point the " Better Business Bureau" How do you get away with this???? His bank account has nothing in there and we are getting hit hard with overdraft fees. I want a response to this! I want documentation of your answer. And I want anybody that is going through this same problem to POST! They would not help me at all, I have been my father's power of attorney for 3 years and they were the people that let me work on his account until I told them we didn't want to use them anymore. Prices are off the wall compared to other companies. It is not customer friendly!!!

Did you send them copies of the death certificate? Stop the automatic withdrawals at the bank. Who is the executor of the estate that person can stop the billing.

When my mother died a couple of years ago MCI was charging her $70.00 a month for just phone service, something she could have had for $13.00 from our local service. They prey on the elderly.

The bank account should have been closed when your father passed and all creditors notified. If you have carte blanche POA over his financial affairs discuss this with the bank manager, and as copperworks suggests, it is a good idea to make copies of the death certificate for creditor purposes.
