TORRINGTON, CONNECTICUT -- An OEM windshield was purchased and installed in a 2010 Nissan Altima. Three weeks later it cracked under it's own stress. Two glass guys and a Nissan mechanic all said that there was no damage inside or out and that it was a stress crack - which they said sometimes happens. They were all confident that Nissan would cover the part. It was defective afterall! Surprise, surprise...Nissan did not cover their crappy part, and when the glass guy that installed it went to order a new one (out of HIS pocket) there was a national back order of the part. Seems a little suspicious to me. Less than a month earlier, the part could be delivered in a few days from across the country and now it's going to be MONTHS before another can be delivered. What a despicable ethic out of such a large company. Shame on you Nissan....

Would a third party glass manufacturer (such as PPG or LOF) sell a windshield for that car? It won't be OEM, but it shouldn't crack...assuming an independent auto glass shop or Safelite puts it in.
