Target - Horrible Customer Service
SALINAS, CA, CALIFORNIA -- I have been shopping at this location for almost 20 years now and until today, I have always received excellent customer service. I purchased 2 father's day cards, 2 Mickey Mouse cheese & grape snacks and a set of small stackable storage containers. My first issue is that there were only 3 registers open with 4-5 customers in each line. After several minutes, the front end manager appeared and called for one additional cashier. So a male cashier comes up.
I was the last person in my line and I just so happened to be standing next to the register he was opening and he told me he would help me. Great I thought! I don't have to stand in this long line anymore! Well the experience was far from great. As soon as he said that, he struck up a conversation with the front end manager about this coming weekend's weather and did not say another word or even look at me! It doesn't bother me if a cashier doesn't greet me but I don't like being ignored. And since his conversation was more important that his customer, he also failed to bag my items!
He placed the cards on top of the storage containers and the snacks on top of the cards! And pushed them towards me while handing me my receipt! All while conversing with another employee! As a long-time, frequent customer (2-4 times a week), I am really disappointed in the service I received today. His attention should of been on my transaction, not a personal conversation. I hope this was an isolated incident but if it happens again, I won't let it slide. I will speak up and I will complain to the store manager.
