Days Inn - Mold Motel

NEWPORT, TENNESSEE -- The bathroom should have been condemned. The mold was so bad that the ceiling and walls looked like they were ready to cave. Apparently the housekeeping staff doesn't believe in vacuuming under furniture! Dust bunnies wasn't the word I would describe what was under the beds! The A/C unit was spurting out mold spores. Got so sick had to leave and go back home the next day. I left the room after 5 hours and stayed at the Best Western across the street but by that time I was so sick I had to cancel my vacation plans and go home! Never again would I stay at a Day's Inn. I'm plannning on calling corporate and the board of health in Tenn.!

I personally wouldn'/t eliminate ALL Days Inns from my travel plans. They are all independently owned, but I sure would call the Board of Health on this one and never stay at that particular one again. Something similar hapened to us at our favorite motel on our way to Arizona. One time it was a gem and the next year it was a slum. We just never stayed there again. I talk with my wallet. Change of ownership of the hotel makes a big difference.

For some reason, I like hotels that have rooms located outside instead of inside the building. You just park your vehicle by your room and go in.

I prefer that also, Mr. Mike, but was the review edited? I didn't see room access mentioned.
I particularly like outside rooms if I just recently met my companion down the street, and need to get out of dodge quickly.
