US Airways - No complaints

NEW YORK -- I flew on US Airways 6/10/12. I flew from NY to Phoenix then Phoenix to Hawaii. My traveling went as smooth as could be. I was a little anxious being I read so many bad reviews about US Airways but I suspect a lot of people don't give credit when its deserved and only complain when things don't go their way. My flight from NY to Phx was delayed 45 minutes due to rest restrictions for the crew. Fine, no big deal.
I asked the agent at the gate about our connecting flight. We would still have a 1 hour layover if we left with the 45 minute delay but the gate agent was very pleasant and assured me that US Airways is aware of the delay and the connecting flights and in most cases will hold the plane if needed. So we took off on time (after the 45 minute delay) and got to phx with no waiting needed. We had just enough time to go to the bathroom grab a bite to eat and board our connecting flight. Our flight to Hawaii was smooth.
The flight attentends were nice and gave my son extra drinks. Same thing coming home but with no delays. The only problem I have is US Airways charges $25 a bag for each checked bag. I was traveling with my 11 year old son so I spent $100 round trip just to check 2 bags. Other then that, our traveling was good.

Good review. You're the kind of passenger every airline wants. Delays happen and it sounds like you understand that and stayed positive. Glad everything worked out for you. Hope you had fun in Hawaii.
