Time Warner Cable - Bait and Switch
TROY, NEW YORK -- I am writing to let you know how extremely disappointed I am with your customer service. I called 6/11/12 to cancel my service because I was moving. The man who was helping me over the phone said he could offer me digital cable and internet with turbo boost for $99 per month for a year. I decided to go with that plan and stay with your company. I was told the total with tax would be $103 per month and a one time fee of $20 for moving. I was shocked when I checked my statement today and saw a bill for $184.68! That was way over the price I was quoted and there was no detailed statement available. I contacted your customer service and was told by one of your supervisors that that rate is only available to new customers and that the employee I spoke to was wrong.
I asked the supervisor if she could listen to the recording of our conversation and she said it didn't matter because I can't get that deal. This is completely unacceptable. We had a verbal agreement over the phone for that price and I want that price for the year. I will be canceling my service if this isn't fixed immediately. I have been a great customer for your company for 5 years and it is disgusting that you would rather give special deals to new customers instead of loyal ones.
