Sunbeam Complaint - Sunbeam Products
AYR, NEBRASKA -- A pattern has begun to develope with the Sunbeam products we have purchased recently.
Several months ago we purchased a Sunbeam coffee maker with all the bells and whistles and paid $42 for this beast. No matter what we did the appliance occaisionaly leaked coffee all over the place during the brewing process. We attempted to return the product to WalMart but since we had kept the coffe maker for more than ninety days (as it did work intermittently) WalMart would not take it back and had us contact Sunbeam.
Sunbeam was quick to apologize and asked us to cut the cord off and send the severed cord to them. This cord contained an identification number that would allow them to varufy the model.
After a few weeks Sunbeam called and offered us only twenty-five dollars since they didn't know how much we had paid for the coffee maker and of course we hadn't kept the receipt. Bad move on our part.
Yesterday we went to Walmart where the same model coffee maker is still for sale and the price is still $42. As of yesterday WalMart has offered to make a full refund afterall. Of course once we cut the cord off the product the product was put in our dumpster and is now gone. What a fiasco!
We also have two warming blankets that we purchased last year at Christmas time. When we tried to use them this fall, one didn't work at all and the other only heats in spots. These too are Sunbeam products.
This has become frustrating and I suppose we will not buy anymore Sunbeam products in the future.
