Bank Of America - Debit Charge

Bank of America charged me a $35.00 fee for a shortage of 79 cents
Are they that cold hearted that they need a few cents !!
I am on Social Security And I find myself running short at the end of the month. At one point I had a shortage Due to a florist making a mistake and taking the wrong amount on my debit instead of my charge card !
That started the ball rolling. They held the big debit and balanced all my smaller ones as you all know what I'm talking about. Well that one debit came to the amount of several hundred dollar's. Not sure of the exact amount. Don't have time to check

One of the reasons I do not use my debit card is to keep to reduce the possibility of purchases interering with my checking, resulting in overdrafts. Using a credit card for purchases, and paying in full at the end of each month keeps these two separate.
The rest of what you describe is typical. I did have a dentist cover my overdraft fee once, due to something he did causing my account to be unexpectedly overdrawn. The villian in your case sounds like the florist.

i recently went shopping and spent more than i thought. when i got home i noticed an email from bank of america, it stated i over spent. i simply made a transfer from one account to another, and was not charged any fees.
how long was the overdraft active? did you correct it same day?

I have never, ever incurred an overdraft fee from B of A. I don't spend money I don't have. You really expect them to just give you money when your account runs short? It's a bank, not a charity.
