HOUSTON, TEXAS -- If it rains we know we won't have TV because we have Dish. As usual after a storm didn't have TV for 5 days. Kept calling to go through the 12 step do this do that, didn't work, nothing they suggested so they told me since I didn't have a service policy I was going to have to pay $95.00 to have a tech out or buy a service policy for $7 a month to fix their faulty equipment.

They ask me who installed the equipment so told them my contractor but he has been gone since February, this is June so why are you blaming him. They said once the equipment is installed it was then considerd the buyer's equipment and we were responsible after that. What????

they ask who installed the equipment because they have no record on file. It sounds as though one of the fittings on the dish or ground block was not properly sealed against moisture, and when water gets in, the signal is lost. Make sure all the connections are tight

It seems logical to me that if there is an issue with your dish itself, or the wiring from it into your home, that may be your responsibility. I don't know how that works, but maybe that is why they mentioned your installer.

There would be no reason that once a storm has passed that the satellite signal couldn't reach your dish unimpeded.
