Dentist - Complaint
NEW JERSEY -- In late April I went to a Dentist with a broken tooth. He put a crown on it and charged me $1,250.00. From the first day the tooth hurt and I mean an 8 on a scale of 10. I went back to him 8 times and tried to get the problem resolved. He did not fix it. I asked Capital One to reverse the payment as the work was not done properly. They reversed it and asked for more details. I sent an explicit list of what had happened and when. After 50 days of pain, I went to another Dentis for an addition $1,200 and had the tooth fixed. Capitol One then paid the original Denist. The reason? The only way they will reverse a payment to a Doctor or Dentist is if the second Doctor or Dentist signs a paper on his letterhead stating what the first Doctor did wrong. No Doctor is going to do that for legal reasons and also because he does not know exactly what went on between you and the first Doctor. Because I could not get this piece of paper, they took my money and paid it to a Dentist who did not do the correct work. My money. Do not believe that they will protect you if something is defective and you have paid for it with your credit card. They have made the rules impossible for you to dispute a medical claim. I have now paid $2,550.00 for one tooth because I could not stand the pain, the first Dentist would not fix it and Capital One paid for work not done correctly. Don't use this card - it could happen to you.
