Priceline Is a Farce.
motel room reservation. - Complaint
I reserved a motel room via Priceline, pre-paying with a credit-card. Upon checking with the motel the day before arrival, I learned that they had no record of our reservations. I called Priceline, and they assured me that the problem was fixed, and we should proceed to the motel destination. (Priceline: Sorry for any inconvenience, have a nice trip, blah, blah, blah...Call if you need any more assistance.)When I arrived at the motel, they again had NO record of any Priceline reservation at the motel. Again, called Priceline, and they talked to the motel staff, and we were allowed to have our room, assured by Priceline that everything was now in order. Except, everything wasn't in order. Two days into a five day stay, we were locked out of our room by management, separated from our belongings. A note was posted on our door, that indicated they had "no record of payment" for this room. I again contacted Priceline, and we were allowed to enter our room. Priceline again assured us that everything was now fixed, since our room was pre-paid through Priceline. Wrong again....At check-out time, the motel charged us for the pre-paid room, claiming that they had no record of paymet available on their files, or computers. To boot, we were charged extra for an ungrade that we didn't ask for. This whole issue was made even more difficult, because we were in town to attend a memorial service for a family member. Also, it may be illegal in Wisconsin to lock pre-paid consumers out of a room they rented. (Especially, with no "cause".
All of this happened over a month ago, and Priceline has not restored the amount billed to my credit card, but their farcicle "customer service team" is still asking for my patience while they resolve this issue. I am in the process of filing complaints with consumer advocates, because after numerous attempts to resolve this issue through Priceline, and the motel, we are getting a complete run-around. Their customer service is non-existent. Completely phony. Never, ever, use Priceline. I will never use Priceline again. All I ask, is that billing for a motel room that Priceline admits I prepaid for, be removed from my billing. Priceline is either incapable, unwilling, (or, both) to remove me from the billing for a room I already paid for. (*Go to Priceline's corporate page out of Connecticut....There you will see negative review, after negative review. Literally pages of bad reviews involving Priceline rip-off's.)
