EBay Resolution Centre Scam
UK -- On two occasions recently after attempting to open a case against a rogue seller in the eBay UK resolution center eBay UK immediately rerouted the case to the US site even though all the transactions took place on eBay UK. In both cases the US resolution center allowed the seller to escalate the case and denied me any option of doing so, when it is normally the other way round. In both cases a final decision was made against me without either explanation or logical reason.
The final decisions were totally biased in favor of the seller, in fact so much so given the case details, that it struck me as extremely suspicious. Here is the point, it would appear to serve eBay's financial interests to reroute a large proportion of minor UK cases to the US resolution center in order to find in the sellers favor regardless of who was at fault. In this way eBay UK does not have to cancel large numbers of sales and they get to hold on to large numbers of final value fees which they would not normally be entitled to.
The process would also confuse the buyers legal rights applicable, at least in theory, on the UK site. This unexplained rerouting process appears to be commonplace and aimed in no small way at increasing eBay/Paypal profits in what I think will turn out to be an illegal and fraudulent manner. I would be interested to know of other eBay users who have experienced this, or similar.
