Direct TV took my money and refuses a refund after cancelation
BURLESON, TEXAS -- I have been a Direct TV customer for 7 years. I recently switched my service to Uverse. I needed to upgrade my boxes after 7 years. I scheduled Direct TV do the upgrade. I took the day off work. NO DIRECT TV. They no showed. So I called and customer service told me there were no tech's in my area on that day. Really YOU scheduled it. So I scheduled a tech visit for 5 days later again was off work. NO TECH. Direct TV again said no tech in our area. So I canceled my service and switched to Uverse.
I was sent one small box to return all my equipment. ONE BOX FOR 5 receivers and remotes. This was not going to work. I called Direct TV and informed them I needed more boxes. I did get the boxes and packed up my equipment and sent it back. Its over ... or so I thought. then on June 21 I see that they have helped themselves to $270.00 for failing to return equipment. OMG! I called and talked to someone in INDIA who barely spoke my language. English! Guess what they did not have my boxes. I had mailed them in their boxes but did not use their postage and mailed signature requested with a tracking number. I gave them the number and called everyday for 3 days ....the money was returned.
I have always been told my billing, customer service etc.. that I am billed a month ahead. This is the Direct TV way. So I called and was told that my refund for the month of June would be deposited in my account with in 10 days. Well here we are at 30 days. No deposit. So I called. Seems now I was billed for only May and the draft from my account was for May's service not Junes service as they do not bill ahead. MORONS!
Direct TV will never get one dollar from me again. Each time I call customer service they ask me if I want to upgrade. Funny when I had your service you wanted to charge me $500 to upgrade. Now its FREE! Do not use direct TV. You will lose your money.
