Never Again Using Travelocity
Airline Ticket Purchase - Complaint
Contacted Travelocity over the phone to purchase two airline tickets for a total cost of about $6,000. Requested matching price from another vendor (Vayama), which advertised the same tickets on the web for $350 less. I thought that Travelocity will be a much better and more reliable company than Vayama, that is why I contacted them. After more than two hours on the phone, I ended up terminating the call with anger. Within these two hours I was told that the price of the tickets advertised on the Travelocity web site increased by $150.
After further discussion on this event, I agreed with the new price being convinced that Travelocity will honor their price warranty policy (advertised on their web site) and return to me the difference. After waiting for the reservation to go through, I was told that the tickets are not available anymore. I ended up hanging up the phone in disgust. Within an hour I received a fraud alert from American Express notifying me that many strange charges are appearing on my credit card.
They revealed to me that Travelocity charged my card for about $5,700 for two tickets that I was told they do not exist and three charges of $60 each for service fee (why three and not one is a mystery to me). Currently, I have American Expresses dealing with these issues. Total time wasted about three hours. Travelocity, how about paying me for three working hours being wasted on your false advertising and questionable practices? I think sites like these should be forced to close down. Where is the US government when we need them?
