Procter & Gamble - Stretching The Truth.....Clean Dishes...Ha!!!

Being a single guy, I depend on my dishwasher to get my dishes clean AND I want them to LOOK clean too (shocking, I know). Anyways, I purchased a bag of those Cascade "tablets" and ALSO,(as per the recommendation on the package) Cascade Rinse Aid. It's pretty bad when I have to hand wash, rinse and dry my Teflon skillets straight out of the dishwasher(let alone the glass plates and glasses), talk about FALSE advertising!!!!!("superior spot protection" my aXX, I sure don't see it.

OH! A single man...AND he does dishes too! I call 1st dibs! ;)

I've never understood the purpose of a dishwasher. Everyone I know that has one, was to wash everything off before loading the washer anyway....AND then they have to let all the dishes sit in the washer until they get a 'full load'...Heck, it's easier to just wash them once by hand and be done with them.

Being a single guy now, I do my dishes by hand.

Like Basher, I've never understood what a dishwasher is for. Maybe parties. From your complaint, it spounds like Cascade's marketing did a great job, but the product fails to match its effectiveness.

I gave up on dishwashers along time ago. Too bad this product didn't work for you...

When I had my kitchen remodeled almost 2 years ago I paid over $1000 for a high end Bosch stainless steel dishwasher. Believe it or not I have never used it. My wife and I only have a few dirty dishes each day. I find it easier and faster to do them by hand. In less than 10 minutes an entire sink full of dirty dishes, pots & pans and glasses can be washed, dried and put away. Also it's one less appliance that I have to worry about breaking.

I use a dishwasher and I have found that if you insure that the water is hot going into the dishwasher at the start of the cycle the dishes will clean properly. To do this run the hot water in your sink (the sink is usually next to the dishwasher) until it is hot. Maybe this will help you.

I like most of the free world use a dishwahser and I'm happy with the results. I'll be sure to steer clear from this product. Thanks for the warning.

BigAl, I always wondered why my dad would run the hot water in the sink before starting the dishwasher. I'll have to try that. Our dishes don't seem to ever get clean enough in the dishwasher and I usually just end up re-washing most of them

Since I'm single as well, and dirty very few dishes, I see no sense in using a dishwasher. Dishwashers are fine for washing family dishes, but it's overkill for a single person, unless he/she allows the dirty dishes to accumulate in the sink over a number of days before they go in the dishwasher. Also, I notice that you don't see portable dishwashers (the kind on wheels that attach to a kitchen sink faucet) any more. Whatever dishwashers I see in appliance stores nowadays are the permanently-installed kind. And many older homes' kitchens don't have the under-counter space for a dishwasher.

I stopped using my dishwasher two years ago. I always wiped & rinsed before loading it and my dishes always came out with film on them and glasses & bowls had particles inside that resembled cigarette ashes (no one in my house smokes). What;s point of using the dishwasher if I'm going to wash them again after?
