AT&T - Unusable Yellow Pages Book

Phone Book - Complaint

Resolution Update on 08/04/2012:
Everyone agreed with me...
We just had a "yellow pages" delivered to our home this evening.
It is a product of AT&T. The phone book itself is 5 inches by 7 inches in size and when we got it we opened it and we discovered that the print in the book is so miniscule that it is virtually impossible to read without a magnifying glass or better yet, a microscope.

I can understand a desire to reduce costs but to the extent that the company miniaturized the book to make it virtually unusable is totally ridiculous. Shame on you AT&T!!

So many individuals don't even have a landline anymore, or go through a cable company, that telephone directories are almost worthless in my area. Businesses were allotted one listing at N/C but it was a pretty steep monthly charge if they wanted their business name listed under an additional category.

I did receive one year one of those tiny telephone directories along with a regular sized one. It would have taken a jeweler's eyepiece (I think they are called loupes) to have even read it. Some folks with excellent vision would take the tiny one and place in a pocket of their vehicle. This was white and yellow pages both. I couldn't have read it period.

Everytime you do business with someone from those "YPs," you should mention to them how horrible their ad/the book is.

That thin small book I always toss in the trash. I think that is its purpose.

I have been complaining about the number of times we get phonebooks delivered here. I'm sure they are not ALL AT&T, but we get so many! I don't even bother bringing them up to my apartment anymore because they go right in the dumpster. I keep just ONE, and that's in case my Dad ever have to use it. He has no clue how to look anything up on the computer....so, it's there as a backup...but ONE for the year is good enough, we don't need new ones every few weeks.

Basher... what surprised me is that a reputable old firm has to produce trash like what I described.

We do get all kinds of "independent" phone books which we just toss.
I liked the way it was in the 60's when there was just ONE company and ONE phone book.

I'll say it again,...THINGS AREN'T GETTING BETTER"

Not only that, but did you notice how thin the pages are? They're like tissue paper, you can almost read the print on the other side.

Don't forget! You can recycle those YPs instead of tossing them!

I agree Frak, and that's what I meant when I said mine goes right into the dumpster. Just up the street from me, they have dumpster set up specifically for 'phone book recycling'. I just drive up and toss them in.
