USAA - Absolutely Criminal
Checking Account - Complaint
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- I opened a checking account with USAA several months ago. I was put off by the customer service. It would seem there are two teams. The first team that you receive when calling is very nice but can do very little. No matter what your problem, you will have to be transferred to another department and that's when things get really weird.
My account was frozen because they said they needed to see my ID. I sent it to them, then they said they need to see my Social Security card. 4 weeks later they say they need to see my Army paper ... I was never in the Army. I am no closer to receiving my money than I was 4 weeks ago. The people in the verification department are very rude and it's pretty clear that they could not care any less.
If any person did this to another person they would be in jail but, it's a bank ... so they can get away with it. Do a Google search and see how many people they have done this to.
