Hertz, Careless and Unprofessional

DETROIT AND ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN -- Hertz customer service was extremly poor both ways.
Upon arriving at the Detroit Airport, no one picked up the phone. I waw trying to confirm our reservation for picking up a Hertz car @ the Ann Arbor location.

Many other customers also tried, yet no one was successful.

Upon arriving at the Ann Arbor Hertz location, I mentioned no one picked up the phone, the woman said she was not surprised. She handed me keys without escorting me to the car or checking the car. The keys to the car did not work. She was annoyed at us when we requested another car. After checking the car, and finding the keys did not work, she offered another car, again did not escort us to the car. She pointed outside, "It's somewhere across the street".

When returning the car, the check - in woman charged 100.oo extra! She asked me 4 times if I filled up the gas. Each time I responded, yes, the tank is full. She never checked the tank.

Calling for customer service prior to renting the car and the day after to check they final charge was challenging. No One picked up both the local Hertz locations and the 1-800 general number.

This was extremely disappointing.
We usually use Enterprise and never had any problems with Enterprise Car Rental.

I've never had any problems with Hertz, but I'll certainly avoid using them at Detroit's airport. Thanks!
