Spirit Airlines - Spirit Stinks - You Get What You Pay For
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- As they say, you get what you pay for! And with Spirit, since it isn't expensive, you can't expect much. We were flying from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and due to unavoidable construction at LAX, our flight was delayed by 1:45. Okay, that's not Spirit's fault. But what happened next was.
When we finally landed in LAX nearly two hours late, we were directed to some distant terminal (not even a passenger terminal) because apparently Spirit couldn't coordinate to get us an open gate at the normal terminal. Once we pulled up, we then proceeded to wait ONE HOUR to deplane! And during this entire delay, we were informed a grand total of ONCE by the aircrew what the heck was going on (I can only guess they were as pissed as we were given that they couldn't get off the plane either, but at least keep people informed!). Apparently, Spirit hadn't arranged for a gate operator to meet us in Timbucktu where they had parked our plane, so we sat ON the plane in Los Angeles for as long as it took the plane to fly from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.
Once we were finally released from our aluminum prison (with no apologies), we found ourselves on an outdoor concrete ramp, and then had to load onto busses which drove us for 10 minutes across the airport to where the real people were in the passenger terminal!
I travel a lot, and I know air travel sucks, but the rank incompetence and lack of consideration of the Spirit employees was frankly breathtaking! I wouldn't fly their airline again if it was the last airline in the world.
