Plumbing Repair - Complaint
MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY -- The plumber from All Set Plumbing quoted me $95/hr for his services on Teusday evening – 4/24/12. He arrived at 9:40 am on 4/25/12 and left around 3:40 pm and charged me for 5-1/2 hours at $90/hr and 4 hours (for his assistant at $70/hr). The bill for this job should be no more than $95 x 5 hours = $450 + $24 (parts) + $33.18 (tax) = $507.18. All Set charged me $853.25. I was overcharged by $346.07. 5 hours is the most I should have been charged for since Mr.[snip] spent a 1/2 hour retrieving a larger pump (he left my house) and 1/2 hours for his assistant to leave to get the correct parts.
I refuse to pay $160/hr so he can get parts. The extra labor charges were never quoted beforehand or during the job. I stayed with the plumber during the entire job, handing him parts or helping him the entire time. I tried to resolve this issue with All Set Plumbing, by sending a certified letter on 4/27/12. The post office tried to deliver the letter 3 times to 2 [snip] Lane, Moorestown, but the letter was refused 3 times. In addition, the plumber used galvanized plumbing fittings in my sewage tank (substandard materials, which will degrade over time, when he should have used PVC piping).
Desired Settlement: Refund
I am still seeking a refund of $346.07 for the overcharged amount and $400.00 to have another plumber redo the galvanized fittings that installed that need to be redone with PVC fittings. The corrosive nature of the sewage in the tank will degrade the galvanized fittings.
Don't use this plumber!!
