TMobile - Bait and Switch
COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS -- I bought a prepay smart phone through TMobile last year. I was paying for the unlimited plan and supposed to be getting 4G service but very rarely able to even do basic things on the internet such as check mail and the internet would frequently go out. It was very slow even in supposedly "excellent coverage" areas. My dad bought a rocket stick for high speed internet and when I was staying with him, both of us would go out at the same time and get very poor service. I quit using it for several months. After about 6 months I needed a cell phone again so I went to Walmart to see what was available. There were signs up all over advertising a 30.00 a month plan with unlimited text and web which sounded perfect to me. I bought the card but when I got home and logged online to activate it, the plan I'd seen advertised wasn't listed but instead there was a plan for the same price with very little included. It included 1500 texts and 30mb of data. he only choices for unlimited text and web were priced at 60.00 a month or 50.00 a month. I called customer service and they told me that the plan was only for new users and that it was listed in their Terms of Service on the website so they don't have to advertise it. I filed a complaint with the BBB but only received a form letter in response that said that it is not their problem if I can't find a suitable plan of the ones available. The card I purchased is not returnable so basically I was just screwed over. Either pay twice as much for the same thing or accept a plan that is worthless to me.
