Do yourself a BIG favor and book directly with the cruise line. It's not worth trying to save a little when your trip is at stake. We had "booked" a 7 day cruise from LA to Mexico with Cruises.com for our anniversary only to be told by them a week before departure that due to a "glitch" in their system we were not booked on the cruise even though we had a confirmation from Cruises.com. that we were and now the cruise is entirely sold out. Non-refundable airline tickets costing over $1100, prepaid hotel reservations $500, 2 weeks of vacation for my wife and I that we must now take as our employer will not reschedule. And Cruises.com blows it off as a "glitch"?! And they couldn't do anything about it. They didn't offer any kind of consolation for this outrageous screw-up. Nothing. At the very least since it was entirely their fault our out-of-pocket costs should have been covered AND a cruise at a later date at their expense would seem the right thing to do. But nooooo, NOTHING! Oh, I'm sorry, there was something...it was BEND OVER AND GRAB YOUR ANKLES! As of this writing there is no word when or if we get our $2000 cruise fare back.
Our families travel a great deal and have used Cruises.com in the past but after this experience never again. We will make it our mission to warn everyone not to ever use this incompetent unethical and unscrupulous vendor.
