SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- We made a call prior to 9/30/2011 for a bad GE Gas Range under the impression that it was still under warranty. Promised to come on 9/30/2011 to repair but did not mention anything about minimum charge or any initial checkup fee. The technician came on 9/30 and insist that the model is NOT under warranty. He said that if we go ahead and let him continue to fix it, he will charge us hourly fee and if we stop right there then there will be no charge. That's NOT the case. Later we found that we were still secretly charged us for US$99 (without our consensus or signature). Since we rented out the house we didn't know about this until 8 months later, the collection agency is going after my sister-in-law (who initially purchased the Gas Range) for the $99. We were totally shocked. I think GE is very short-sighted. We were loyal GE customer in the past, but from now on we will NEVER purchase anything from GE again.
