Sears - Completely Incompetent Delivery Service
Appliances - Complaint
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- I bought $4000 worth of appliances at Sears and arranged home delivery. It was scheduled for 8/7. The night before, I get a confirmation that the appliances will be delivered between 0800 and 1000. I rush to work, then rush back to be there by 0800.
I wait. 1000 comes and goes. Finally at 1100, I call the delivery department. They assure me that the appliances are on the truck, that I'm the next delivery, and that they'll be there.
I wait. 1200 comes and goes. I call again. I get the same response from a different "associate." This time they say that the delivery department will call me back.
I wait. 1300 comes. No return call. I call them again. Now they say that they'll call 30 minutes before delivery.
I wait. 1400. 1500. I call again. Now a third person wants to get me to reschedule for 8/9 or 8/11. They say that they can leave the delivery open so it'll still be delivered today. I elect to do that.
I wait. 1600. 1630. I call AGAIN. They cancel the delivery (9.5 hours after it was supposed to happen). I ask to speak to a manager. I wait. I wait. Finally I get someone who claims that the appliances are still in the warehouse.
I ask that it be delivered the next day in the morning as I will actually be home during that time, so nothing more is lost. They can't do that.
So it gets rescheduled for two days later, meaning I have to take off work AGAIN. I'm self-employed, so if I don't work, I don't get paid, and my employees don't get paid either.
One would think that Sears would at least throw in a token something to try and smooth it over. No dice.
So not only did Sears screw up the delivery, costing me a day of work, but after they knew it wasn't going to be delivered, four separate "associates" flat-out lied to me about me being the next delivery.
I won't be buying anything else from Sears.
