MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN -- http://www.brewcityshooterssupply.com

Don't go to Badger Guns [now Brew City Shooter's Supply] , in Milwaukee/West Allis, Wi. to use their firing range OR buy a gun!

Even if you don't buy a gun there, just using their firing range, they will report you to the Milwaukee Police Dept. which also enters your name & address into the Milwaukee Police's system FOREVER!

"Police Chief Nasci said since late 2009 he has run more than 25000 names of range users through his system. So far this year he's ran more than 8800 and come up with 47 people who required further investigation. A few of those were referred to prosecutors for illegal possession, Nasci said."

What exactly are they reporting to them?
47 people needing further investigation out of 8000, almost doesn't seem worth their time...but then again...one of those 47 just may be the next mass murderer at some school...personally, if I didn't have a reason to hide from the police, they can run my info through their computers everyday if they wanted to. But, I guess I can see why some wouldn't like it.

Thanks for the info.
Very helpful review, and I voted it as such.

Thanks. No reason to share their customer list. That's why I purchase ammo & weapons anywhere else beside the range

Informational: This store is located in the Village of West Milwaukee, not in the City of Milwaukee itself. There had been a LOT of issues with the previous owner(s), including not following the state's gun sales laws. I believe that a number of guns used in high-profile Milwaukee-area cases had been traced to the store.

What led me to check this out, is the fact that the City of Milwaukee's Police Chief is Ed Flynn. (I live about an hour north of Milwaukee and read the Milwaukee paper and watch Milwaukee TV stations.)

Possibly the reporting is the result of court action for past violations?

IIRC you're supposed to have handguns and rifles registered anyway right? If that's the case then what difference does it make. Seems to me that the only people who would have a problem with this would be people who attained their firearms through less than legit means.

For the record, I'm not anti-gun by any means, I have several firearms, including a Romanian AKM. But it is my opinion that if you are not responsible enough to register your firearms properly then, you're not responsible enough to own one. Others may disagree.

What difference does it make that they report your info?!
The difference is, when you purchased your gun [could have been in a different state & 20 years prior for that matter] is they Brew City Shooter's Supply unnecessarily reports and draws interest to you LOCALLY. As in State vs. Federal.

Mine are all registered BUT, it's none of their [w. Milwaukee PD]damned business if I am using a private gun range or not.

Milwaukee PD should worry about their own officers instead of innocent civilians - you would be amazed [as recently reported in The Milwaukee Journal] at how many Milwaukee Police officers have COMMITTED FELONIES and the police reports buried or the offender NOT CHARGED.

There are more crooks in the Milwaukee PD than there are using Brew City's gun range!

Again, your gripe is with the WEST Milwaukee Police Department. Milwaukee and WEST Milwaukee are completely different beasts.

I'm sure there are other shooting ranges that you can go to, which do not report you to their municipalities.

West Milwaukee is actually the 'Village Of West Milwaukee'.
Their resources for background checks are attained via the City of Milwaukee and national data base.

It's all a matter of semantics - If the customer's personal info is entered into the WEST Milwaukee data base, it also entered into the Milwaukee City data base as a matter of course.

Either way, this is a truthful rendition:

--------- Update ---------

"Mike", the owner of BCSS [supposedly; who knows any more? Over the past 4 years they've shuffled ownership/licenses among family members so often that we are no longer sure WHO actually runs that business]; say that he supposedly has ceased submitting customer's info [background checks] to the W. Milwaukee PD, instead, running the names himself via public records.

After 3 years of stabbing his customers in the back, should we believe him?
If so, he's only done so due to public outcry AND an obvious loss of business.

Does this also RETRACT all info on the past 25,000 customers that he's already screwed over?

We shall inquire in a month or so via public records and request follow-up info from the Milwaukee Sentinal's investigative reporterwho originally broke this story.

Brew City Shooters Supply REQUIRES a $25.00 "Membership" AND and $10 for a yearly renewal which allows you to buy a gun?!

PLUS they additionally charge you another $10.00 to use the firing range every time you you it.
Why bother?

Cabella's and Gander Mountain [and many other retailers in the area] have a Hell of a lot bigger selection and don't make lame excuses!

If you buy a gun there, add $25.00 ["membership"] to the retail price.

Yes, they still delete all negative comments from their Facebook page AND then block those people from posting further comments.

I sure as Hell wouldn't trust them in my lifeboat!

It gets worse!
Just visited Brew City Shooters Supply yesterday to see if their policy has changed at all.

Not only hasn't it changed, but there is now signs posted about every 10 feet along the glass of the gun display cases reading, "Gun will not be shown to Non-Members"!

What the.....?!
Now they won't even talk to you about their guns if you don't knuckle under to their invasion of privacy demands!

I wasn't surprised to see that at 3:00 in the afternoon, I was the only "customer" in their whole show room.
