Receiver upgrade - Complaint
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- I got my receivers upgraded to the new Hopper system about a month ago. The cost of the upgrade was $150 which I was okay with. When the technician came out to do the upgrade I asked if I needed to mail in the old receivers. The technician told me no and that he would take them back and turn them in. I thought nothing of it at the time and the rest of the installation went fine. A couple weeks later a $500 charge for unreturned equipment was showing up on my bill. I called to inquire about the charge and stated that the technician took the receivers. The man assured me that the charge would be taken care of and we ended the phone call. A week later the charge was still on my account, so I called again. The lady that I talked to did some research and came back saying that the charge was right. I was outraged, but tried to stay calm. she claimed to have talked to whomever the technician works for and they said that they had no account for the equipment. She also said she talked to her management and they also said the charge was right. I don't know what else to do. I am being charged because a Dish Network technician took my old receivers and now there is no trace of them!?! This is outrageous and I don't know what else to do. Other than this incident, Dish has been great and I can't afford this charge. This makes me want to cancel the service just to get away from the BS.
