Mobile Device Protection Association is a "RIP OFF COMPANY"
Cell phone Insurance - Complaint
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- Do not let the company you are buying the phone from talk you into buying insurance for your phone from Mobile Device protection because MDPA is a rip off company. I bought two Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4g Touch from Wirefly and they talk so nice about Mdpa and it sounds good it was a dollar less per month than if I was to take the insurance from my carrier. plus the good part is there is no deductible. So I got caught up into buying insurance from MDPA. Wirefly talks you into it by telling you if your phone is lost, stolen, damaged they would replace it with no deductible, hassle free replacement. Seven months later my house was broken into they stole a lot of stuff including laptops and the sort and my phones. I got a police report, I called up MDPA explained what happened they asked for all information including police report. They kept emailing me and I told them I did not have a computer because all my computers were stolen. Everyday they keep emailing for some sort of proof. When they got everyting and could not find anyting else to ask for, they turned and started asking for my homeowners insurance. So I asked them why the wanted my homeowners insurance and if they wanted to place a claim for me-lol. I asked them why do you want my homeowners insurance? I pay you to protect my phone if any problems occur. and the fight goes on back and forth. finally they decided to approve my claim, they sent me two phones tossed in a box (not origianl packing) I receive the phone, looked at them and I asked them what is this they sent an email saying that if I do not like the phones or the condition of the phones, send them back and they will refund my money and cancel the protection plan. So then I stayed with the phones, but they are having problems because they are refurbished. When I called them up, they claim they only send out new phones, so I asked whey did the phone come in a not new phone box. I guess they want you to get their insurance, collect your money and don't even think about placing a claim because once you place a claim, they cancel you. I received a letter that my mobile device protection plan has been canceled immediatley. So pay the extra dollar per month like that if you have to file a claim you get what you are paying for. Do not spend your money on a rinky dinky place like MDPA company and get RIPPED OFF.
