W COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I had to check into the clarion airport because the clarion hotel downtown Columbia gave my whirlpool suite away. My only reason for going to this area was to get a room with a whirlpool. I called the clarion airport after seeing online that they had 1 more whirlpool suite left. When I got there the gentleman told me that there wasn't anymore left. I told him that I was the person who called and stated that online there was 1 more vacancy. He looked and said that someone must of cancelled, because there were no more when he last looked.
Upon entering the room I did a walk through of the entire room. I noticed there was a dirty wash towel on the bedroom sink, an open soap, a tag off of a garment size small from jcpenny's. As the whirlpool had dirt spots in it. I called the front desk. I was often a king suite, but without the whirlpool. I explained this was the reason for me and my fiance coming to that hotel, other wise I would have taken the suite offered at clarion downtown for $89. I then asked if I could come and get some cleaning supplies so that I may clean it out. I was told that he could get the guard to walk me to get the cleaning supplies, but " that he didn't recommend it". He offered the king suite at a rate of $89, which was fine, but if I wanted just a suite I would of stayed at the first one.
Needless to say we ended up going to Walmart to buy bleach and lyson at 2am. The gentleman in the morning was nice enough to offer a free breakfast when I called for a late check-in.
