DON'T GET SPRINT FOR ANY REASON!!!!
Sprint Wireless Service - Complaint
OREM -- My first experience with Sprint was back in October of 2009. I got a Palm Pre and it had software bugs. I sent my phone in to get repaired and the representative refused to give me any sort of phone to hold me over during the repair time; I even asked for a brick or flip phone in the interim and the response was "what?! do you have a court order to carry a phone at all times?!" I was so mad that I cancelled my service and paid the cancellation penalty. In April of this year, I got a promotion in the mail that said "come back - we'll give you a $50 credit for every line you bring over". I figured their customer service had improved because I see all these commercials saying they are better (which when you read further you will find out is an absolutely crock!). I went into the Sprint store on Center and State in Orem and these are all the problems I had. * Ed the representative who helped me is a pathological liar - he told me that if I ported my phone numbers from other carriers, I could have them (Verizon) issue dummy numbers to my existing lines to avoid the cancellation penalty - LIE! I received cancellation penalties to the tune of $270 from my other provider. Once a number is ported, even if a dummy number is issued to the phone it receives a cancellation penalty. *Ed added Applecare to both the phones I had purchased without my permission! I would never buy Applecare because everyone knows Apple comes out with a new product every year, not to mention you already get a mandated one-year warranty, and at that point I would be near eligible for upgrades - no one in their right minds would pay $107 for a warranty on a phone that costs $149. This was just downright dishonest! *As an employee at a major bank, I qualified for an employee discount of 27%. Ed told me he had applied the discount - LIE! He had not and it took me two calls of about 45 minutes a piece two get this resolved. *The whole reason I came back - the $50 credit per line, Ed told me he had applied the coupon code from the mailer I received and I would get the rebate in the mail within 8 weeks. I called today and Sprint told me that no such action had been done at account opening - LIE! *My accounts were set up completely wrong. Ed merged my old online profile with my new account so it created so many bugs that I couldn't view my bill online for two months. The numbers weren't set up correctly so I had porting issues. And till today the numbers are linked wrong. In total, I have tracked my time with Customer Service on the phone - over 8 hours! Imagine that! A full work day talking to Sprint to get resolve issues to no avail after only being with them for less than three months. DO NOT GET SPRINT FOR ANY REASON AT ALL!!!!!! ANY REASON!!! IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT THEY OFFER UNLIMITED DATA AND THAT THEY ARE CHEAPER THAN OTHER CARRIERS!!!! IT WILL COSTS YOU SO MUCH MORE IN THE LONG RUN!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!
