Car rental reservation - Complaint
I am writing to share my complaint and dissatisfaction regarding my recent encounter. I was flying into Philadelphia due to my grandson pending surgery. I checked pricing for cars to make it possible to get around while he was hospitalized. I prices at Philadelphia airport were unreasonably over priced. I searched other area rental agencies and found the same compact car for $38 per day opposed to $88 per day.
I booked it even though over 100 miles from airport, but at another smaller airport. End of story...no.
After booking the car, I received an email from Priceline showing my airport itinerary stating price drop. Can pick up car in Philadelphia for $31 per day for small SUV. I immediately emailed Priceline and asked if I could change my pickup location and take advantage of price drop. They said I could change..no guarantee of price. I attempted change...the price remained $88.
I called Priceline customer care ( joke). Explained my situation and request. They would not honor the email price. They stated email was promotional ad not intended as price and subject to availability . Even though the email was directed to me with my itinerary, and the price had not changed since I booked 3 weeks prior.
I say BAIT AND SWITCH and PRICE GOUGING!
I usually book through them, but this is my last time....very unfair and inflexible .
