RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA -- The car xcame from GM with an oil leak. While it was in the shop they ran into my car and damaged it so had to paint it pkus fix the leak. After 6 months of being in the shop off and on, about every 100 miles, and damage to the car for 2 more paintings I sold the car. GM motors would not stand behind MCKIE to give me any cash compensation but did give oil changes to me for my inconviences. I have sent written to GM every week since May and now they are no longer calling me but I am still writing tio them. I would think they would stand behind there cars and retailers but NOT

What exactly were you hoping to receive compensation for - a paint job, repairing the oil leak, something else?

If this was a new car, and the repairs were for the same fault, you might've been able to invoke a lemon law. What were the problems that the car had beyond the oil leak? Also if these problems were covered under warranty, then I don't think they would owe you any cash compensation, as they are already fixing or at least attempting to fix the car for free anyway. With that said, they *might* owe you some lost value compensation for the damage they inflicted on the car, but *only* if the damage was significant enough to show up on Carfax report. If it was just some minor damage (scratched paint, a dent that requires no bondo to fix, etc.) then I wouldn't expect much if anything for diminished value compensation.
