82-29 153 AVE, CROSS BAY, QUEENS, NEW YORK -- I took my child for a fasting blood work with a 10 am appointment. I arrived at 9:50 am with standing room only. After waiting for more than one hour we were finally seen-not to mention my daughter was feeling dizzy and felt like she was going to pass out. We were finally taken in by Tamika, the phlebotomist. From the moment we entered the room Tamika was very rude and seemed to be upset with life itself. She acted like she was there doing us a favor and we were only there to give her more work. She made the experience a very unpleasant one for my child who at this point just wanted to get out of there and get something to eat. I am very disappointed that my insurance company will sign a contract with a company that is very inefficient with disgruntled employees. Personally I will try to avoid going to this location unless changes are made........

Wow, so sorry you had such a bad experience. Taminka sounds like she is definetely in the wrong line of work.

Thanks for warning others.

It isn't just Quest Diagnostics. Unless your primary care physician does blood work in their own office, you can expect the same thing from many companies.

Before you get angry at the person doing the blood draw, stop and think. You stated when you walked in it was standing room only. How many people were working that day? Did you note your appointment time on the sign in sheet, or did you just put the time you signed in and your daughters name? If you didn't put the appointment time she may not have known you had an appointment. I deal with Quest as well, and when I made my first appointment I failed to put down my appoinment itme on the sign in sheet and waited to be called past my appointment time too. When I finally got called in I asked why my appointment didn't help and the girl showed me on the sign in sheet where I should have indicated it, so that next time I was aware. I have remembered that and placed my appointment time down in the proper spot and have not had any further problems with waiting. Also, take into consideration how these people are treated. I have seen more then one person treat these girls like they are beneath them, and I also have to say I've never seen another job the people coming in for tests actually TELL these girls how to do their jobs! Personally, I'm so grateful when I get in and get out, and figure they know better then me what they need to do since they do it ALL DAY! Next time put down your appointment time and you'll be seen on time.

selenay2k Just because the person that posted the complaint that they took her an hour later than her apptointment, don't ASSUME that SHE didn't write down the appt time just because YOU didn't. In other words don't blame the VICTIM. People that deal with the public deal with all kinds of people, that's their job. If she can't deal with patients, she needs to find another job with no patient contact. You must work for Quest. Some Phlebotomists don't know how to draw blood or do sloppy work. Some are just cruel and need to be fired.

I am a regular at these Quest Labs, and all seam to run different. I had good ones I had bad ones. The best one, was in Texas. That lady made a great laugh out of my day. Things are very bad in healthcare as she herself pointed out. The better the employee is treated the better care you get. That goes for any service area, in life. You cant just blame the staff. If your sick and not feeling well you might be tired and thirsty or just down right hungry. But when you are kind you get honey in return. I know the place was very crowed when I went I stood for about eight minutes before a chair became available for me to sit-in while I waited my turn. The Phlebotomist was a thirty-something woman and had no smile on her face, but as we began to talk I saw her crack a smile and began to start her day off with several jokes and laughs. She was very imformative and she knew what she was taking about, with years of experiance under her belt
