T-Mobile - They Lied!!!
My two year nightmare with T-Mobile is coming to an end. My contract expires in a little over a week. I was just ready to purchase a new cell phone and plan with another carrier. The salesman warned me to check with them first before porting my number over so I didn't get whacked with a cancellation fee.
I called customer service and explained that I will not be renewing with them. Big sales pitch to stay but I refused. I explained that I wanted to port my number but did not want to incur a cancellation fee. They assured me that there is no fee if cancelled in the last 30 days of the contract. I was then told that I would see a $50.00 cancellation fee on my final bill and to call to have it removed. To confirm and avoid a problem I asked for the rep's I. D. number and have him post this to my account notes. He readily complied typing away and gave me the number.
I felt uneasy about this so I called back 5 minutes later and spoke with another representative Same sales pitch.."please don't leave us, blah blah blah." He informs me that I will incur a cancellation fee and the final 30 days doesn't apply. I asked him to check my account notes from the previous rep....Nothing, he lied!! Had I listened to him I would have been billed the cancellation fee. To avoid the fee I had to complete the full two year contract. After this I have a 5 day window that completes the billing cycle. This is when I can port my number over with no fee. I am done with T-Mobile, good riddance.
