Direct TV frauds it's customers/customer service is incompetent
First they drop 28 of my original channels and increase my bill $20.00. I then cancel my service. I am told I have 28 days to return my receivers but they will have to send me boxes to mail them in. They waited four days to even send out the boxes, which took over two weeks to get to me. I called them twice to check on the status and ask for an extension since I did not have them yet. Told it would not be a problem. I take them into my USPS store the next day and call direct TV to inform them the boxes were indeed on there way. told again by customer service..."no problem, I would not get billed". Upon tracking the box I find that direct TV's return parcel service did not pick the item up at my USPS for 9 days after I dropped it off? I call again and am told NO PROBLEM. three days later I am billed almost $500.00. I call and am told that the money should be returned in under 48 hours. two days later I call b/c it is not returned and I am told the boxes were received yesterday, but a refund would take 5 days. I ask to speak to supervisor and she says the box has not been returned and they other lady manually cancelled the tracking. "WHAT???" When I ask to speak to financial dept supervisor, she says they are in a secluded area with no phone. I can leave a email throught the website and they will call me in 24 hours. "first of all you don't work for the pentagon, so why the secluded area nonsense. and if they don't have a phone how they gonna call me?" If they can call me back then I should be able to speak to one NOW! what a joke. but they have in fact called me every day since I stopped my service to ask me to come back to them. I think that is what the delay is really about. I have reported them to the BBB and with consumer affairs in my state. I plan to post a negative review as well on every site I can to make sure this doesn't continue to happen to other. I gave one star only b/c I couldn't give ZERO!!
