ST. MARTINVILLE, LOUISIANA -- I don't know what the hell is going on in Dollar General? Dollar Tree is more high-class than Dollar General right now. Not only is this store dirty and disgusting I can take that but what I can't take are employees the ones in St Martinville. I've never seen a store yet that can top the discussed these kids at St. Martinville store. Kids work here. I lost my phone today. No one would help me. They know me very well. I am and was an almost everyday customer.

It's getting to where I would rather go to Family Dollar that is 10 miles away than to go to the Dollar General that is one mile away because I went there today and I assume I don't know for sure but I am assuming because of the time no one was hardly in the store and the only one back there was the employee themselves stacking or pretending to stack things, move them, turning them around whatever. And I set my phone down to help a customer get some tissue that was way up on top of that shelf just turn around. Place my phone down, grab the tissue.

He walked away and left before I did so I know the customer didn't steal the phone because I was back there 10 minutes after the customer was long gone. Now the only one back there was an employee now who's pretending to work.

Well I get home find out my phone is missing and I remember where I put it down. Call it 2 * 3 * 4 * after 1 to 2 rings they hang up. I called the store ask them about my phone. The employee who didn't care at all to even be there answered in a half answer with "No" so I go back to the store call my phone call my phone.

Now the manager is nowhere in sight now. This is the person that was just here following me around like I'm stealing or something that was back there stocking the shelves is nowhere in sight. I'm calling my phone and it's still doing the same thing. Now I'm pissed off because I ran around the store calling my phone for 10 minutes. The girl in the front knew what I was doing. She didn't even try to help. Didn't even ask anything. And the guys nowhere to be seen and they can't review a camera. They can't do crap. I asked to see the cameras. I get the answer, "We can't do that."

So now what? She tell me I can go to my phone company and they can turn it off. WTH. Are you kidding me? If you can't do that then what can you do? Because my phone with all my info, credit cards, everything, my whole life is on my phone and now someone has my phone and y'all can't look up cameras. Damn.

I knew they couldn't clean or smile or make you feel welcomed crew but I'm sick of this store and now I want to know can I get any help please. Because is in my books 100 percent I don't think I know this Dollar General is a can't do, negative people with a bunch of lies on the walls and ceiling and following you around. Dollar General getting sued their ass should be for false enforcement and advertisements but that a whole another chapter. But someone get a hold of these children and let them go hire some adults. Clean the store up and make it look presentable because right now my number one favorite store has now become the store I hate the most.

I can't stand that place and I used to love that store. It's like a disgusting, dirty, filthy rat hole with a bunch of children walking around looking like they got their finger up their **. Can someone answer me this. Why do you have this what look appears to be 19 yr old male? Really? The one who's barely walking down with his pants hanging down to the floor guy that's the manager?

I hope someone please see this and someone please intervenes before it's too late because it's disgusting. What is sad is they used to have some awesome help, some awesome wonderful people there. I don't know what happened but those people are no longer there. I'm talking about employees who were there for years are now gone. They just up and left. Now you have kids that don't care. It's disgusting.

Worst Experience of My Life

FLETCHER NC -- I visited your store in Fletcher NC this afternoon and had the worst experience of my life. While walking through your store with my cart there were many boxes in the aisles, unstocked shelves and even body wash with a 1/4 of it missing in approximately 4 bottles (This is facing the front door as customers walk in). I continued to shop and fill my cart when I became thirsty. Like any other store in this area I picked up a soda and took a sip while walking. When I was at the last aisle, I opened the soda again and my lid dropped on the floor. I looked down to retrieve it but could not find it.

Throughout the store I noticed workers walking in the general area I was in but figured they must be putting up merchandise. I proceeded to the checkout line where I saw multiple employees. I put all my things on the counter and then paid for my order **including the soda** as I told the cashier I had dropped the lid. Then a woman comes over and says "for future reference there are cameras all around the store and I got beeped telling me you opened a soda. Next time just bring it up to pay for it first before you open it."

I accepted that but she continued to tell me about loss prevention and her getting beeped as I explained my lid dropped and the cart did not have a cup holder. She said "where did you drop it. I can go get it for you." I pointed to the aisle and told her I did not want the lid since it had fell on the ground. She then asked again which I declined. She proceeded to say "I'll get you a new soda" and took my soda out of my hand and brought a new one back. I looked back at the 5-6 people in line behind me and was mortified that I was being accused of being a shoplifter. I said to the cashier "this is the oddest experience I have ever had and I don't know what to think of it."

As I picked up my stuff and left the store. I called the store to ask the person's name I spoke with and it was the Manager Rhonda. I explained that I have never had an experience like that in all my life. That it was embarrassing and I felt it was uncalled for since I had already paid for everything I picked up from the store before she said a word to me. I was sliding my card through. She began to get upset. Talk over me about $80,000 worth of loss per month. She even had the audacity to say "the problem here is that you WERE shoplifting the moment you opened the soda" justifying her nastiness.

Although she said it with a sweet southern tone it still stung because I was being paraded out in front of everyone as a shoplifter. I will never shop in that store again! I am a manager in profession as well and have worked in many venues but as I explained in a normal tone she became defensive. I asked for her boss four times before she actually heard me over her own talking. She then told me her name. When I asked for the number she left the phone and came back with a toll free number as if she was being helpful.

I asked "is this the customer care dept". She said "yes" and thanked me for my call. I call the number and it is the survey number. Not a number I can reach an actual person. I call another store and a very nice gentleman helped me all the while apologizing for this woman's behavior and told me to visit his store where I would be treated with respect and "as family." Those kind words restored my faith today as I found and called customer care to log a complaint.

Unprofessional & Inconsiderate Manager

AKRON, OHIO -- I am seriously PO'd. 😡😡😡 I went to a new Dollar General near my house (705 ARLINGTON ST, AKRON, OH 44306) today to get a few things. I had my sister & my 2 yr. old daughter with me. First, the carts were all being used by the store employees doing inventory and some were full of boxes to be stocked. For what I was getting I needed a cart. So after 10 minutes a customer was done with his (which there was only 2 other customers who had carts) my sister followed him to his car and got his cart.

Headed to the next isle, my 2 yr. old says, "Peepee mommy, peepee" like a few times. Sister asked a worker (which turned out to be the manager) if they had a restroom she could use (as she continues to yell "peepee") and he says, "Not for public use". So we try to hurry. 2 yr. old still saying. "Peepee mommy." So at the checkout. She's screaming and crying "Peepee mommy, right now."

I said to the cashier "You guys don't have a restroom she can use? She's 2 yrs old and potty training." She leans over to look down the aisle that the manager was in and asks if she can use the restroom. (I didn't hear him due to 2 y/o screaming at me as I'm unloading my cart as fast as I can.) He replied "I would suggest taking her outside." As if she's a dog? I guess the man in front of me heard him say it and said to the cashier "Aweee, that's ** up. How could he say that to her???" The cashier replied to the man "I didn't hear him say that."

So we hurried up and paid and went to the car. Sister told me what the man had said, which was the manager but we didn't know, so she went to put the cart back and got his name. I am furious. I'm calling the corporate office. Every DG we have ever been to had a restroom or was ok with children using it. There is about 8 DG stores surrounding my area and not one of them has ever denied the use of their restroom let alone made the rudest comment regarding my 2 year old going outside to pee. This MANAGER has NO HOSPITALITY, MANNERS, PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR WHATSOEVER!!!

Racial Discrimination

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- Today I went to the Dollar General to buy two gift bags for my two kids birthday gifts. While I was on the line, there was a white lady in front of me. She was suddenly called by one of the cashier who just opened her register. I was last on the line and I had only two bags and the white lady had a full cart. I didn't say anything, I just looked at the cashier and she asked me why I was looking at her that way. I told her that I have only two items and I was last the line and usually the last of the line is called first when a new register is opened. She said "it is different here." Once I was ready to check out with the other cashier, the cashier told me "you can leave."

I was angry and I throw the money on the belt. The cashier got upset and said she won't sell to me anything and that I need to leave the store. They were chasing and screaming at me to leave the store. I may be shouldn't throw the money at the belt but I felt discriminated because of my race and the way I dressed.

I am a beautiful young African, accountant and mother of three. No one deserves to be treated that way and there is nothing to do because a police officer told to me that "they have the right to not serve you in their store without a valid reason." It is the Dollar General on the Morse Road. I forgot, they told me to go back to Africa.

Don't Order Online

ONLINE, WEST VIRGINIA -- I placed an order on 3/20/20 and it said should ship in 3 to 7 days. I tried to check on it after 4 days and couldn't find it on my account. Customer service found it and told me it was shipping in 24 to 48 hours. I check on it again on 4/2/20 and it was still processing. Email and asked about it and customer service got it shipped the next day. I finally received my order today 4/6 and more than half was missing. They never shipped the remaining items in my order.

When I finally reached someone on the phone they told me they knew it was all shipped even though the size and weight of the package couldn't possibly hold the items. So they said they would refund the rest of my money instead of shipping my items. So I get to do without while waiting for my refund. When all I wanted is my items. My 2 stars are for the customer service email support.

Do Not Shop Online at Dollar General

1991, ILLINOIS -- I placed an order on DollarGeneral.com and won't ever make that mistake again. My order was placed on 10/13. I finally received my order on 10/25. After having to send multiple emails to Customer Service to ask where my order was. To their credit, the Customer Service by email was very good; fast and efficient. They were very accommodating. However, that doesn't make up for the fact that when my order finally did arrive, Holy Cow, the entire box (and the contents!) smelled like cigarette smoke. UGH!

I have never gotten an order from Amazon or Walmart that smelled like cigarette smoke. And I won't ever again because I don't plan on EVER ordering from DollarGeneral.com EVER again. What a fiasco that was. Some of my order didn't arrive. So I had to once again reach out to Customer Service only to find out that the items weren't available so instead of letting me know, Dollar General just didn't ship them. This order was WAYyy too much work on my part.

GREENSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- Did you know they repair cars? Neither did I, but after they had shopping cart hit a customer's car and she brought it to my shop to be repaired they informed us that they would not pay for part of the repair that the vehicle manufacturer states must be performed or "current or future owners and occupant's may be exposed to unnecessary risk." When I pointed this out to Mike V. at their corporate headquarters he told me that he didn't care and if the customer wants that part of the repair done she will have to pay for it herself. I guess he knows more about repairing vehicles than both the repair shops and the manufacturer

ARKANSAS -- Made an order at Dollar General's online store. Order arrived in one of those cheap carboard boxes that come out of China and it had ripped open in several places. Opened the box and there was no protective padding of any kind. Everything just thrown in. A bottle of laundry detergent had a busted top and had leaked out. The plastic bag it was in was not sealed so it got out and ruined some food items. Also an item missing that probably fell out. This was our second order. The 1st never showed up. We eventually got an e-mail that it was canceled without explanation. These people don't hold a candle to Walmart. Never again.

SANTA ROSA BEACH, FLORIDA -- Clairol root touch up, # 4, I went to buy at the Dollar General, on 12-23-18, I was planning to do my roots on 12-24-18, because I was going to a party, but guess what? Couldn't use the darn thing because it has been use, someone used the product and returned it to the store empt. My mistake I didn't check the seal, or either the Dollar General worker, oh, wait a minute, why the product was on the shelf for sale??? They don't checks boxes??? I will go and take the empty box to them and see what they have to say. Such a disappointment. Have to come back to the store to waste my time. Also this store is always a mess inside and outside, is so dirty, same workers throw cigarettes butts everywhere and people open their stuff outside and just toss the empty packages in parking lot.
