IKEA - Poor Return Policy
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- I tried to return 2 picture frames to IKEA. IKEA wanted a driver's license and the credit card to make the return. When I looked at the receipt, I realized that they hadn't been charged to either my debit or credit card. The charge was done on my husband's card. There was a chance that they had been charged to the credit card that we had to close the week before because fraudulent charges had appeared on our bill. The new credit cards that we were issued obviously had new numbers. IKEA told me that I would have to contact the charge company and have them fax a statement to them validating what I told them. I was incredulous! All this for 2 lousy picture frames worth $5.99 each? They offered me store credit but I didn't want it. I'll never shop there again. I realized later that the charges had actually been on my husband's debit card. I would have had to drag him, his debit card and photo ID back to the store to get the refund. Stay away from IKEA. They have very very poor customer service.
