Pepsi - Bottom Design

20oz Bottles - Complaint

The design of the bottle makes them very unstable and have had many mishaps when setting it down on less than a hard flat table.

I am a Pepsi addict and would not change but have had many spills. I know the design is a marking tool to fill the bottle less without the customer feeling they are getting less. But if they spill it all the time its not worth it. I am 69 and have used Pepsi all my life.

I may be naiive, but I don't see the marketing angle regarding fill level. It is a 20 oz bottle (probably the largest pseudo single-serve size), so 20oz is 20oz. If they reduced the size to 18oz and kept the bottle around the same size and changed the shape, I would be on board. Maybe I am missing something?

That aside, if there was a design change that made the bottle more unstable, they need to know about it.

I'm pretty sure the shape of the bottom is so the machinery can handle the bottles properly during manufacturing, filling and shipping. The bottles are getting to be thinner plastic, so the shape is going to change.
