CPAP machine - Complaint
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- Back in 2007, my doctor recommended I have a sleep study performed. Results show that I had sleep apnea and needed a CPAP machine. My insurance did not cover it so I did without until last year 2011. My insurance coverage changed and covered a percentage. My doctor's office said they would have someone contact me about getting a machine. A representative from Pacific Pulmonary Service called within days. Right off the bat I told her my main concern was how much it was going to cost me out of pocket because the internet had these machines priced $500 up. She reassured me that with my insurance my cost will be no where in that price range. Machine was shipped to my house and that was that. Needless to say, firstd bill sent to my insurance was $996.00. I was in disbelief and so upset. Here's the kicker...I thought I bought this machine...oh no...I was renting it and they were billing my insurance $200 a month!! TOTAL MISPRESENTATION OF SERVICE AND PRODUCT. I now have a bill collector hounding me.
