TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I bought a Homelite 24v cordless lawn mower last year. In the 1st season I used it, it had a power surge that melted the key to the handle. Seeing it was still under warranty, I returned it & got another one. I should of thought twice before doing that. Now it being the 2nd season, with a new Homelite 24v cordless lawn mower, fresh out of the box, the battery doesn't charge properly.
Seeing that half of my lawn is mowed, I need to go get another lawn mower & NOT a Homelite cordless!
It is apparently obvious, that this mower has too many issues and/or bugs that the company needs to workout. It shouldn't be on the market.

I wonder have effective a cordless mower would be as I'm thinking of getting away from a gas one. I can say this, I bought a cordless weedeater and find it far underperforms compared to my old gas models. I also use to get cordless hedge trimmers, which did work ok, but the batteries would be shot within a couple years.

Ive heard nothing but negative things about cordless mowers. From being too weak, to mechanical problems....Id never buy one. I have a briggs and stratton gasoline lawn mower and I love it.

We also have a melted key since September. It has been backordered until December. Prior to this the battery had to be replaced as well. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MOWER - MODEL UT13126.

I just got the homelite 24v. Cordless in the middle of 2011 it worked great for those two months and even the whole summer of 2012 this year I used it once it was fine no problem went to use it a week later, had it on the charger until it read fully charged took it off the charger and started cutting the grass only half the lawn was cut befor the charge was low again so I put it on the charger again for about 30 minutes in hopes theres enough charge to finish the lawn anyway started back where I left off started the mower moved two feet and it totally died. Once again charged it until it read fully charged went to use it and it did not work so I found myself hooking up a battery starter to the motor in order to finish the lawn and yes I know thats getto but it worked
