Maaco Auto Painting - Bad Paint and prep

Complaint

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I've had several vehicles painted by Maaco, they were good but my cougar was painted by them three times in a 8 year period, twice they charged me the last was no charge. But the paint doesn't have enough hardener and the prep work is appalling. The paint begans to peel off in areas all over the car. I've finally took it to a Ford and a private body shop they tell me the same thing bad prep and cleaning of vehicle before painting. Paint is cheap and not enough hardener. Maaco gets a thumbs down and I will not send any more of my friends to them.

With Maaco you get what you pay for. It's pathetic that you had to get it repainted 3 times in 8 years. You're much better off taking your car to real body shop and paying more. A good paint job (where you're not changing the color of the car) will run around $2000 possibly more. If you run into an outfit that's charging you less than a grand for a paint job, be very suspicious.
