Priceline.com - Pathetic Cancellation Policy
Carmel Resort Inn, Carmel Ca
SPARKS, NEVADA -- I booked a room for two nights on Priceline.com in Carmel for business. I had to cancel due to a family concern. I called at 3pm on the day of the reservation. I was told by the hotel..."Carmel Resort Inn" in Carmel, Ca that I had to call Priceline to cancel. I asked about a fee and they told me that that was up to Priceline.
Priceline told me that yes, I would be charged $100 and that that was the hotel's policy. Upon looking at my Priceline confirmation, it said that my reservations must be cancelled on the 27th of August. I MADE THE RESERVATIONS ON THE 27TH. So, unless I cancelled on the day that I confirmed...someone was going to collect my money. I asked the Priceline customer service representative for his name, he said David...I then asked him where his call center was located (I was concerned that I might be overcharged, and wanted to have some recourse if I had to call again.) He said that he was located out of the states...the Philippine.
Beautiful, so Priceline is going to take my money and then turn around and pay someone less than minimum wage to handle their customer service? The American way??? I am frustrated with their policy and ways of handling customers. Consider that my last time to use Priceline.com and my last visit to Carmel Resort Inn...
