Progressive Insurance - Refusal to cover damages
Travel Trailer Insurance - Complaint
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- A warning to policy holders of Progressive RV insurance: Unless you shell out $600.00 a year, or more, to have the roof sealant on your travel trailer replaced Progressive will DENY any claim you file regarding water damage involving roof leaks. It doesn't make any difference how good of a condition the sealant was in prior to your claim. Our travel trailer was hail damaged causing a leak that damaged the ceiling of the RV. The lap sealant was replaced 3 years ago. An inspection of the roof on 04/12 revealed NO degregation of the lap sealant, only normal discoloration. There were no leaks prior to the hail storm. The first question the adjuster ask upon inspection of our unit was, "when was the last time you replaced the roof sealant?" Denial was based on the "maintenance" clause in the policy. This is a money making Dodge that Progressive uses to deny roof leak damage claims. After talking to a few RV service reps this seems to be SOP for Progressive. Let the buyer beware!!
